Youth Recovery Connections

For the month of January, the Wellness Coalition would like to spotlight Youth Recovery Located in Hollister, California:

Youth Recovery Connections is a non-profit organization offering intervention and prevention services coupled with education and awareness for those who are suffering from opioid and/or other substance use problems. Youth Recovery Connections offers an individualized and evidence-based approach provided in a safe, caring, and supportive environment. Their focus is to promote recovery and wellness through healthy and productive lifestyle changes while using a whole person approach to care.

Their focus is to provide education and awareness by participating in prevention and intervention in natural environments (homes, schools, and neighborhood settings). The services available are guided to youth ages 12-18 and transitional youth ages 19-25.

In addition to their prevention work, Youth Recovery Connections has a 24-Hour Crisis Hotline / S.U.R.T. (Substance Use Response Team) that can be reached at (831-313-0779). Volunteer opportunities are available for those who want to make a positive impact on the community and its residents. Volunteers will also be given the opportunity to help with youth monthly outings and fundraising events.

If you know of someone who may be struggling, Youth Recovery Connections encourages you to visit their website https://www.youthreceryconnections.org/. You can leave a confidential message that will be responded to with the utmost emergency. No matter how small or big the situation it will always be treated as an emergency. Youth Recovery Connections Executive Director Michael Salinas comes from lived experience and expresses his concern by stating, “today is not like when I was a kid, it’s a whole different world, with totally different substances that are being consumed. With that said, Youth Recovery Connections takes every child’s situation as a life-or-death situation. Fentanyl is killing our children, let's work together and save the lives of our children. Don’t wait until it’s too late. If you reach out, we will come to you, no matter the place, we will be there when you are in need.” If we cannot fulfill your needs, we have additional resources on our website such as San Benito Opioid Task Force https://www.sbcopioidtaskforce.org/ and up-to-date academic/news articles.

To get in touch with Youth Recovery Connections, please: visit their website, and/or call at 831-313-0882, 831-387-8161 and/or email the team at abravo@yrconnections.org and msalinas@yrconnections.org
