Valley Health Plan – Local Health Coverage for San Benito County

Valley Health Plan (VHP) was founded on the idea that everyone should be able to get high-quality, affordable health coverage. As a not-for-profit health plan, VHP has lived up to that vision by providing community-focused health coverage to the people of Santa Clara County for almost 40 years.

Three years ago, Valley Health Plan began offering the same great local health coverage in San Benito County.

Already, word about the great network and personal touch VHP provides its members has started to spread. During the last Open Enrollment period, thousands of people living on the Central Coast chose VHP as their health insurance provider with plans purchased through Covered California or directly from Valley Health Plan.

While open enrollment is now closed, people who meet certain special circumstances can still enroll in a health insurance plan. Some of these circumstances are:

  • You lost your work or government provide coverage

  • You permanently moved into the area

  • You adopted a child or had a baby

  • You got married or entered into a domestic partnership

  • You returned from active military service

If you, or someone you know, meets one of these conditions and needs health coverage, VHP is here to help, with plans developed specifically with you, and our diverse communities, in mind. Based in San Jose, we understand the needs of the people living in San Benito County because many of our employees also live on the Central Coast. VHP members and shoppers will notice the difference only a local plan can provide. From the variety of plans offered to the assistance they receive - in the language they choose.
